This session will focus on quality control and best practices in the plate room, as well as plate care on press and after the run. Discussion topics will include configuring and analyzing quality control checkpoints, as well as proper post-run cleaning & storage procedures.
Jessica joined Anderson & Vreeland in June of 2010 and leads the Technologies Team of specialists focusing on platemaking, proofing, color management and press-side assistance. She has previously held positions with Esko as the FIQ Supervisor, working with digital laser imaging, platemaking, fingerprinting presses, and software. Before Esko she worked for Schawk as a Technical Director completing R&D on digital plates, curves, and photopolymer In-the-Round. She is a graduate from Clemson University in Graphic Communications program.

The presenters will share technology developments that impact both solid ink coverage and highlight reproduction and support the discussion with real world print data.
Emma Schlotthauer is Global Marketing Manager, Packaging Solutions at Eastman Kodak. Based in Minnesota, USA, she has over 25 years' experience in the printing industry and spent her formative years in Kodak Research & Development and Technical Support roles before taking on Sales and Marketing positions. She has been responsible for Global Marketing for the award-winning Kodak Flexcel NX System since its launch in 2008 and is a regular contributor to publications and a frequent speaker at industry events. Emma graduated from South Bank University, London, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Physics and Scientific Computing.
Dr. Andreas Albat leads Kodak's worldwide Packaging R&D activities including development of the Flexcel NX and Flexcel Direct Systems and works closely with the Unified Workflow Solutions team on software solutions with focus on screening and pattern development for Packaging. With an extensive background in color science, he is also responsible for the development of Kodak's Spotless Software and on-going enhancements to Kodak's Approval proofing solution. Andreas brings over a decade of print experience across Flexo, Inkjet and Offset to his role. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and Diplom-Ingenieur from the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany.
