FPPA Programs in Full Gear

Lee Grantham

FPPA President

I’m pleased to report that the association is going strong…having just held a very successful Management Workshop in Las Vegas; in the midst of promoting a strong program for our 2005 Annual Convention in February; and in the middle of an extremely productive membership drive. Thanks to all of the members and volunteers who have contributed to these successes.

This issue of the newsletter highlights some of the outstanding sessions that were offered last month at the Management Workshop in Las Vegas. Nearly 50

senior managers participated in the Workshop – a new record for this program.

During the workshop, FPPA’s Product Technical Committee conducted interviews with several of our suppliers to inquire about their channel to market for plate equipment and materials. Please see the Product Technical Committee’s column in this newsletter for more detailed information about those interviews. It was a successful exchange and exemplifies one of the values that FPPA brings to its members.

Since the spring, our Membership Committee has been working hard to spread the word about FPPA and the outstanding programs and networking opportunities that we provide. In response, we have seen strong interest from new companies in the industry and are pleased to welcome the following new members: Data Technology, The John Henry Company, Pamarco Global Graphics, Phototype, and Scitex Vision. We think that this is only the beginning of what will be unprecedented growth for FPPA in the next several months. I hope that each and every member will do their part in recruiting a new company to join FPPA and attend the upcoming Convention in Miami.

The 8th Annual Convention, will be held February 27-March 1, in Miami, Florida. Promotional materials have been sent out recently. Don’t delay in blocking these dates on your calendar and making travel arrangements. This year’s program features some outstanding case studies for the industry and highlights some of the potential growth areas for pre-press.

Thank you for your support. I look forward to seeing you in Miami in February.
