Ritz Carlton Amelia Island to Host 2006 FPPA Convention

The FPPA 2006 Convention is just around the corner! Registration materials will be mailed to you in the coming weeks.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Hurricane Katrina, it was necessary for FPPA to relocate its 9th Annual Convention from New Orleans to Amelia Island, Florida The new host will be The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Picture this….

Off the coast of northeast Florida is a barrier island known as Amelia Island—a destination of untainted coastal beauty and Southern charm where ocean breezes beckon and wild sand dunes hug the shoreline. Amidst this natural beauty stands The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, a resort whose impeccable five diamond service, relaxed elegance and pampering staff are as distinctive as the island itself. One of only 17 hotels in the country to have received two AAA Five Diamond Awards—one for the resort and one for its fine dining restaurant—the resort also offers a spectacular on-premise 18-hole PGA championship golf course and a nine-court oceanside tennis complex. The Massage and Fitness Center, indoor and outdoor heated pools with whirlpools, three restaurants and three cocktail lounges complete the experience.

For nature lovers, Amelia Island is paradise found. Visitors enjoy long leisurely walks along the pristine sand dune lined beaches while watching dolphins play just offshore. The island's backwater marshes and maritime forest are perfect for kayaking, bird watching trips or hiking. At nearby historic Fernandina Beach, island visitors can step back in time to enjoy a quaint Victorian seaside village. Complete with cobblestone streets and ornate painted Victorian homes, the town offers an array of charming boutiques, local eateries and eclectic art galleries.

Doesn’t that sound like the perfect place to get away from the hectic pace of every day to discuss the future plans of FPPA? Don’t delay in making your hotel reservations. This destination hotel will sell out. FPPA’s rate is $189.00. Call 1-800-241-3333 to make your reservation and reference FPPA for the special rate.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island does not currently have availability of guestrooms for the weekend prior to the FPPA Convention. Please contact association headquarters for Bed & Breakfast suggestions in the historic Fernandina Beach area.
