Flexo Trade Shop Upgrades to Kodak Equipment for Increased Speed and Functionality

Cincinnati Precision Plate, Inc., a maker of digital flexo plates for the package printing industry, has improved productivity since installing a KODAK THERMOFLEX Mid platesetter in early July. The new equipment has increased the speed and efficiency of the plate making process, preventing jobs from getting backed up in production, a problem Cincinnati Precision Plate experienced with its old device.

“We wanted to stay ahead by providing the latest technology and cutting edge equipment for the prepress and plate making industry,” said Jim Edwards, Operations Manager at Cincinnati Precision Plate. “With the new THERMOFLEX Mid platesetter, we’re able to turn plates around much faster than we did with the old equipment. The new system delivers impressive throughput at up to three to four plates per hour compared to our old solution that produced only one plate per hour.”

The THERMOFLEX Mid platesetter boasts industry leading technologies, such as KODAK HYPERFLEX Ready imaging technology for flexo to deliver high impact, repeatable print results. Edwards credits the THERMOFLEX platesetter for the newly added ability to image different dot structures and dot spaces. The resolution enhancement technology helps the prepress shop produce smaller, more stable dots on flexographic plates.
