First Quarter of 2005 Marked by Sluggish Growth for FPPA Members

The business plan for the next 3 months is driven by sluggish growth according to 75% of all respondents to the recently distributed Quarterly Survey.

Respondents also report a rising demand for digital plates, which is influenced primarily by new technology advancements. While demand for digital plates is increasing, members insist it is unlikely that customers will go in-house with their platemaking, since the cost of the new technology and experienced talent is prohibitive for their customers.

The FPPA Quarterly Outlook Survey is sent to members to evaluate how recent business performance compares to the industry as a whole. The survey is conducted online and sent to members each quarter. This is a unique opportunity to compare your performance on a regular basis to other companies as well as your own past performance. You can also share your concerns and help direct future surveys by adding comments and questions.

The success of this program depends on the participation of FPPA members to ensure the most representative results. If you did not participate this time, please make a point to take a few minutes to complete the next survey when it is sent to you in early July, 2005. Your response is anonymous and it takes about 5 minutes to complete. If you did not receive the notice, please contact FPPA headquarters.
