FPPA recently presented its annual awards
during its March 12-14 meeting held at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia
Island, Florida. The recipients of the 2006 Technological Innovator of
the Year awards are Container Graphics Corporation and Eastman Kodak
Company.
Container Graphics Corporation received
the Innovator Award for SNAP!, its web-based system designed to improve
speed-to-market time of master shippers. SNAP! controls inputs,
generates art, and then sends a PDF art-for-approval via email to the
user in less than four hours.
Eastman Kodak Company received the
Innovator Award for its PDF Compare & PDF Merge – plug-ins for the Kodak
Prinergy and Prinergy Evo workflow management systems. These tools
provide an automated, reliable and cost-effective way for flexographic
trade shops, printers and converters to manage correction cycles within
their prepress workflow.
The aim of the Technological Innovator of
the Year award is to |
|
recognize achievement within any
production or administrative area of the pre-press process. The word
Innovation is defined as the introduction of something new, whether a
method or a product. The concept of innovation includes enhancement of
profitability, improved productivity, operating efficiency and product
quality. Eligibility for this award is open to the full membership of
FPPA.
In addition to the annual Innovator
awards, FPPA honored The Pitman Company with its Supplier of the Year
Award. Platemaker members of FPPA rated its suppliers in the areas of
Sales Support; Technical Support; Order Fulfillment & Customer Service;
and Product Enhancement Opportunities for this first-ever Supplier of
the Year Award. |
