FPPA Makes Strong Showing in Amelia Island

FPPA’s Annual Convention was among the best of the industry meetings this season. This year’s program in Amelia Island, Florida provided a wealth of new information about the state of the industry…opportunities for new business…and unique perspectives from our customers and suppliers. A crowd of nearly 100 participants comprised the largest attendance in several years. DETAILS

Strong Attendance Highlights 2006 FPPA Convention

A near-record crowd turned out in Amelia Island, Florida for FPPA's 9th

Annual Convention in March. Highlights included a Customer Panel comprised of Sue Barkis, from Albertson’s; Greg Collins, from C-P Flexible Packaging; and Mike Spillers, from Carolina Graphics.

Dr. Page Crouch, of Clemson University, reported on the results of a recent testing project, comparing plate materials from various industry suppliers. FPPA hopes to be able to conduct follow-up test projects in the future.

FPPA Announces 2006 Award Winners

FPPA recently presented its annual awards during its March 12-14 meeting held at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida. The recipients of the 2006 Technological Innovator of the Year awards are Container Graphics Corporation and Eastman Kodak Company. FPPA also honored The Pitman Company with its Supplier of the Year Award. DETAILS

FPPA Elects New Board of Directors

FPPA proudly introduces its newly elected president and board of directors for 2006.

Jan Noller, Graphic Design Services, of Santa Fe Springs, California, will be leading FPPA as president. Noller’s term as president comes on the heels of a successful convention in Amelia Island, Florida.

Supporting Noller is a

strong cabinet of officers including Immediate Past President, Chris Horton, Southern Graphic Systems; Vice President, Dave Norton, NPP Packaging Graphic Specialists; Treasurer, Steve Barry, Printron Engravers, Inc.; and Secretary, Tom Underwood, OEC Graphics. Mark Barnard, Trinity Graphic USA; Neil Saunders, Container Graphics Corporation; Michael Lalonde, Midwest Graphics; Dan Lacey, Artwork Systems; and Dan Rosen, Flint Group Printing Plates are also serving on the 2006 Board.

During his acceptance speech, Noller encouraged members to take advantage of the strong programs that FPPA has planned for the coming year, including its Fall Management Workshop, to be held October 11-12, 2006 in Chicago.
