2010 Annual Convention a Success

FPPA’s Annual Convention was in Florida at the beautiful Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa. The theme of the conference, “How to Survive and Thrive in the New Economic Reality” was timely as the industry had a difficult year. However, the industry reports that business revenues may be turning around as there is more activity in the marketplace and business has picked up some momentum. DETAILS

FPPA Announces 2010 Award Winners

The Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association (FPPA) recently presented its annual awards during the February 21-23 meeting held in Fort Myers, Florida. This was a competitive year for award entries, with five submissions for Technology Innovator of the Year and three for Sustainability Achievement. DETAILS

How to Survive and Thrive in the New Economic Reality

The FPPA 2010 Annual Convention was all about recovering and rebounding from the economic downturn of 2009. The industry was reeling last year with bankruptcies and lay-offs sending ripple effect throughout. Attendance at the 2009 convention was a reflection of this effect. “How to Survive and Thrive in the New Economic Reality” was a prudent theme to bring in a new year and a new outlook. DETAILS

The great companies today are staying calm, keeping a clear head and then focusing their efforts on profitability, increasing cash flow and making their customers their number one concern. Discipline becomes the rule, and simplifying what they do best, the goal. Many companies lose sight of their core business. FPPA to Bring Back Fall Workshop in 2010

FPPA decided not to host its annual Fall Workshop in 2009 in light of the economic situation at that time. The general consensus is that there are too many things occurring in our industry for us to not get together more than once per year. With that in mind, we’d like to re-institute the Fall Workshop for 2010. Among the topics under consideration: Increasing sales; implementing a sustainability program; update on current market conditions; focus on production over management. Please share your thoughts on content for the workshop with FPPA headquarters by emailing me at diane@ksgroup.org. Your opinion and comments help us to build a more effective program for all FPPA members.
